Cihan Bank inaugurated their new Headquarters & General Administration Building in Erbil, KRG on June 14, 2023.
The inauguration event was graced by the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional, Mr. Masrour Barzani. He met up with the officials and employees of Cihan Bank and thanked them for their participation in the 'My Account' initiative to digitize payment method for public sector employees.
In his address, Prime Minister Barzani said "I am happy to visit Cihan Bank, it is beautifully built. I congratulate you and hope it can serve the citizens more. We have paid great attention to strengthening the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region, and the main pillar of strengthening the Kurdistan economy is the banking system.
I am very pleased to see that the Cihan Bank is one of the banks that has been able to adapt to international standards and at the same time participate in the project that the Kurdistan Regional Government called for.
"The Kurdistan Regional Government has more than 1.2 million employees, and our goal under 'My Account' initiative is to enroll all employees on this system within two years," Barzani said.
The Cihan Bank for Islamic Development and Financing is an investment project of the Cihan Group of Companies.
This will be their third branch in Erbil and twelfth in Iraq.
